I was allowed to hang out in the shop while the guys removed the flares. They have never done a Raptor before but years of experience has taught these guys well. They caught on really fast and had the flares off without a single broken clip in about 20 mins. I was pacing around and hovering over them fearing the worst lol.
The paint tech recommended doing a white "rocker panel coating" underneath the paint on the inside lip. He is going to mask off the outside and bake on some stuff that will resist sand blasting and rock chips from showing through. It will be a textured finish only on the inside lip and regular paint on the outside. I haven't seen anyone do it on here before but it seems like a good idea.
