If you read the article the OP posted, its stating it is 25% faster not 25% more expensive. Not sure what they are measuring though, faster from 0-60, faster in the 1/4 mile, faster top speed? I seriously doubt that it will be that much faster. Calculate that percentage out, don't think so.

0-60: If 7 secs now, will be 5.25secs???
1/4 mile: If 15 secs now, will 11.25 secs???
Top speed: If 135mph now, will be 168mph???

Would conclude that the article is just another ******** one floating around....

Read a better article on the "25% faster claim". The claim is the new Raptor is 25% faster on a 66 mile coarse Ford setup.

"On paper the new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor looks to be a monster. Ford announced it finished more than 1,000 miles of testing on a desert trail designed to be as tough as the Baja 1000, the grandaddy of extreme off-road racing. Ford created a 66-mile course that involved challenges of steep climbs in deep sand, fast sandy washes, and touch-and-go rock crawls through tight trenches. At the end of each lap was a tabletop jump. Lap times for the new 2017 Raptor were 25% faster than the outgoing model after 1,028 miles of smash-mouth testing in the southwest desert of the US."

Was it the same person driving the gen 1 Raptor? Were these times taken back-to-back or from years ago? There's a lot of variables to make a claim like that. Let us know what Forza says.

Sorry, but Im not the forza kid so youre going to have to ask him for the hard numbers on this one.

Im just giving RDFTS the information he was searching for since he wanted to know where the 25% came from.

And yes, not enough information to draw a real conclusion.

Thanks for the info. Wonder where this 66 mile course is that is not Baja 1000 because I bet we would love to run it on a raptor run. Not asking you to answer that.

But agreed, even if the same person drove both trucks on the same course, the results will vary and ever single time he did it. But yes, if you have 3.0 shocks then you can go faster more smoothly on the same course. Do need to realize that these are stock raptors but anyone who goes off-road a lot is not running a stock raptor very often. Would like to see Gen2 compare to a modded raptor but doubt that will happen.....

MSRP was $54,325 for my 2011 with EVERY option except bed extender and tailgate step. I'm just fine with a $60k rig loaded (if it has the V8) that's 6 years newer and all the new technology. That's not bad at all. I would assume that it'll be in the $60k-$65k due to the aluminum body and all the extra tech stuff on the new ride...

Just my 2 cents... Still not getting rid of mine for a LONG TIME regardless!
