So, I’ve been on the market for a new 2019 Raptor for a few months now. I finally found a dealership here in CA who has a exactly what I’m looking for at MSRP and given how I live like 90 miles away I was waiting for an available weekend to go get my truck (since they have like 6 of them I’m not worried of them selling out). So, I’ve spent the last week or so reading the forums and I’m seeing a lot of people having problems with them.

My worry is, are there people with 19’s with similar problems as the older years? Tranny, blown engines, leaks? All within what seems less than a few thousand miles f ownership. I’m just scared because for 70k, I see no reason why this thing shouldn’t be solid.

Yeah, ford sells ~800,000 f series trucks a year and they all blow up

Its pretty unacceptable for a $70k truck

you probably shouldnt pull the trigger, even if it checks all the boxes

My friend. The Rap is a fabulous vehicle equipped to do things and go places the majority of other vehicles fear to tread. I’m two years into an 18 and she has performed flawlessly. I’ve owned nothing but F150’s and this is by far the best one ever. My last one was also an Ecoboost and it was flawless for 2.5 years. You will always read about problems with any vehicle out there but that doesn’t mean they’re all unreliable. You will love this truck! It’s a blast to drive and it’s abilities off road is simply awesome. An all around excellent vehicle.

Bought an 18' with 19K miles and I am at 27K with no issues. I was a Toyota owner for 16 years and have 0 regrets....

Most of the negatives what you are reading are folks needing help with their issues and they are looking for support. That does not mean that all Raptors are blowing up. Just got for it and join the club.

Only a small portion of Raptor owners even post on Forums and of the thousands of Gen 2 owners here, only 1% have reported any issue. Go to ANY other car/truck forum and the results will be the same. I had a Gen 1 I ran into the ground, no problems and currently own an 18 with 15k miles and it's also perfect.

a friend of mine is a senior ford mechanic and he sends me pictures of blown engines and transmissions. usually its people heavily modifying their fords of flat out doing stupid stuff. before i decided to buy one i asked him about the raptor, he said their are solid trucks and they dont see any wide spread or habitual issues.

the people who have issues run to the internet to report it. the people who dont have issues dont. if you are really that concerned just spend a little extra on a ford extended warranty and enjoy it.
