Awesome photos and a very well written overview of the tour BigJ!
I wish there were more Raptors up this way to plan a run like that.

Awesome write-up and pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Is this something a completely stock Raptor can make without too much issue? Once our Raptor arrives, my wife and I plan to make a 2-week cross country trip. This is definitely a run we would like to make.

Yes, mine is completely stock with some extra lighting. If you come anywhere near this way please let us know. We are always up for a run.

My wife and I both work for the Army and our projects often take us out to Fort Hood, TX: San Diego, CA; Fort Irwin, CA: Yuma, AZ: and Las Vegas. We often talk about how cool it would be to go offroading in those areas. We've spent plenty of time on the ranges in HMMWVV's but never had the opportunity to do much more than slow convoy routes under tightly controlled conditions.:flipthebird:

After seeing this thread and the family-friendly activities of the members, my wife suggested we take our vacation time and drive the Raptor out there to experience some of it first-hand. She is a long-range planner, so I expect we'll be coordinating this thing with you guys well in advance. :ROFLJest:

Awesome FFS! I really get a charge out of hearing folks like you guys getting excited about trips like this.

We can be pretty flexible time wise, so let us know what works for you and your schedules (thank you both for your service, by the way). It would be my honor to guide you guys out there and back.

And like lvdawg said, no doubt you can do this stock. In fact DynoDynge was out there with his brand new Raptor and zero mods; I think he said they had 1100 on the odo?

Also, check out our Death Valley trips (like this one and that one). There are one or two parts of that trip that are doable stock (lots of us have) but are a bit more tricky and just require a bit more care. Otherwise that's a trip not to be missed either. If you're coming anyway, we've got to see about putting together a few days to make sure we can show off the best of what both the Mojave and DV have to offer.

Start Thursday morning in Laughlin then end up on Saline Valley Sunday evening...just a thought :peace:

Looks like another great time! One day I'm going to have to head farther west for one of these trips!

Great write-up and pics :waytogo:

If you ever have the chance to run Mojave Road you need to do it!

And you guys/gals from far away - plan to take a trip west when you have time and you can run Mojave Road and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and Ocotillo Wells :waytogo:

It's hard to think of any runs that a stock Raptor isn't capable of making. Except for extreme rock crawling or narrow Jeep trails, the Raptor is, box-stock, one of the most capable offroaders ever made by a manufacturer.

You'll want to have one or more other vehicles with you (and the necessary safety/rescue gear and gas and water, etc.) but otherwise you can do it in your stock Raptor!
