^ Are you referring to the front bump stops inside the coils? I trimmed 2 sections off mine because they were already buried, now the shock actually has room to move a bit. Very easy to do with a utility blade, you can get a very clean cut

Edit: I actually cut flush with the bottom of the white ring on the bump stop, just for reference

Why did you cut the Gen 2 bump stops? Using the Gen 1 bump stops would have been a better alternative IMHO. I like having the added protection of the larger Gen 2 bumps. I've put a couple hundred miles on these shocks and I really like the way the Raptor rides.

I used the gen 2 bumps because I always had plans of cutting them, and I wanted to keep my gen 1s for if I ever switch back. Picture shows how much actual shock shaft is showing when the truck sits flush. Before I cut it, couldn't see any of the shock shaft.

I'd like to note that you can cut the bumps down, but you're still losing travel because the compressed shock length is physically longer on the Gen 2 without being able to gain any more droop due to the upper control arm hitting the spring. Recommend a limiting strap if you are going to get the front fully extended.

Losing the suspension travel and needing a strap wasn't worth it for me, hence why I opted to rebuild my stockers. Personal preferences will vary.

Has anyone jumped the raptor with the gen 2 shocks?

It would probably be fine because that would just be one "hit" on the front axle on full droop extension....at least on the front.
The rear full droop will be fine and a little more, however no one ever did a proper measurement to see if the shock body crashes before you hit the rear leaf bump....sooo that could be a problem.

Time will tell, and i guarantee it will create a slew of problems in the front for anyone who hasn't put a limiting strap. It might take 20-30k miles but over that time not only will your cvs be junk, but that constant bind will also trash your axle bearings and seals (if it doesn't crack the housing), the front axle mount bushings, and possibly the front wheel bearings from the cvs having a constant torque on them.

4x hard and shit will hit the fan sooner
