Let me help make this easy. For a guy as **** as you are ****, I would sell it immediately and go buy a Chevy. They build a lot better truck - never any issues. As a matter of fact, most really **** guys I know, own one. Fords are just too finicky. Always something to fix. Hell, in 80,000+ miles, I've had to have mine in the shop twice!!! Good thing I'm not too **** about little stuff, or I'd have to own a Chevy.

Good luck with your Sheep or Bowtie. Are you going to sell your Raptor on the FRF? There are a lot of guys looking for new special projects everyday......

Fox published maintenance schedule says complete rebuild at 50k miles for 100% street use or 10k miles for 50/50 street/offroad so it appears you're somewhere in the middle and in spec, no? Problem is Ford doesn't advertise three trucks as needing shock rebuilds.

Dude, you are overreacting in my opinion, and since you posted your whining on an open forum, expect a lot of negative feedback for complaining about a leaking shock. Nobody but you knows the conditions you have used your truck under. not even Ford. Saying that I have had a huge list of parts replaced under warranty because I abused my raptor from the get go and my dealer never denied a claim, I even shared video with them of my raptor getting air borne! My Ford dealer would bend over backwards for me and I was faithful to them as well with my vehicles. Sounds like you didn't even get your truck serviced at a Ford dealer, maybe if you had of done that they would of found a way to help you out and besides its only one freaking shock!! I gave away my old leaking shocks for free to have rebuilt and bought new take off ones from a friend and it didn't cost me even half of what you are whining about for one shock. I suggest you trade that lemon in and get a Chevy and don't look back. There will be a mile long line up of enthusiasts who would scoop up your ford with a leaking shock.

Sorry to hear you have had issues shocks alone should not be a big deal, but it sounds like you have had other issues. I would recommend a Chevy/GMC first and the Ram Close second. GM product has the nicest interiors and a great ride. The new Ram trucks seem like a much nicer truck overall from past Ram trucks but I don't have any time with them yet so that is why I put it second to GM stuff.

You should be able to get a good price for your truck on a private sale so advertise it here, if you trade it post the dealer here so a fourms member can have a shot at getting it. Good luck with what ever you decide.

I thought you had only one shock go bad. Did I misunderstand?

You do know that those shocks can be rebuilt, don't you?

I'm not actually planning on ditching the truck, as I do like it don't get me wrong. I'm simply very very dissatisfied with Ford as a whole, and the shock thing was the last straw. A close friend had the very same issue, only his was at 17K miles and 2 years into ownership. Guess what....Ford denied that claim as well. He ended up selling the truck very quickly after that. To be honest, his truck had all sorts of issues from the word go so I totally don't blame him. For him to, the shock issues were the last straw.

My original post was to garner attention regarding the issue in hopes that the Ford Service would reach out on the site, but apparently they are no longer around.

The rest of you guys can hate/crap on me all you want, doesn't bother me a bit. The fact of the matter is I drive this company's products for a living and have seen the quality take a nose dive overall. In regards to this specific instance with the shocks, I still do find it unreasonable for this type of failure to be going on with the current, or less mileage.

I'll have the shocks rebuilt and carry on with my life. I am not loyal to any one brand, I simply look for the best product that suits my needs/wants at the time. So, when it comes time to move on to something new, I'll have one less brand to choose from that's all.

It says very clearly in my post that the truck was taken to a dealer. The truck has been taken to the same dealer its entire life, and that dealer has been nothing but outstanding. I live in a small town and its in fact the only auto dealer, of any make, in the town...

Anything non warranty related has/will be done by me in my shop.

Initially went in for the rear shock issue, which was denied....twice. A few days after while changing the oil I noticed the front shock leaking badly, and given my/everyone else's experience I didn't even bother notifying the dealer. So now I've got one front, and one rear shock that NEED work...I'd assume the rest will follow along any time now.

Curious, if you had twice the mileage and years would you feel the same or is it more that they failed so soon? I agree, the shocks should be covered within the 3/36 warranty in my opinion.

I'd EXPECT them to be junk with twice the mileage or years on them. My issue is they fact they failed with so few miles, and very very easy miles to boot.
