when I was talking about big washes, maybe I was using the incorrect terms.. When the ruts from the previous days were completely filled with mud/water. If you carried too much speed into these (which was easy to do)and tried to turn you would blow the corner and could swap ends.. With sport mode on it still allows drifting, but in the above situtation the truck would striagthen you out and save your butt.. I really don't know how to explain it any better..

Greg, I'm confused about what you're calling 'Sport Mode'. Are you dfferentiating between single press of AdvanceTrac and press/hold AdvanceTrac, both with O/R mode engaged?

Ooh wow, I did not know about this. I thought it was for street people only (like the mustang owners who went Raptor).

I will have to try it next time my wheels steer in ruts in sand or mud. I have had that issue a few times (though mostly down hill, where this may not be as helpful). Gonna have to find some muddy wheel ruts and see how it stays in them and corners.

And I have hit ice in 4wd/locked rear/traction off/offroad mode on and it wakes you up. I have slid out in a corner on ice once in the dirt and hit a ditch. Almost hit a tree. Man I was lucky. I will have to try this sport mode when there is ice, mud, and elements that I am no good with (everything... j/k).

Thanks for the "Sport mode" tip!

Kawie - please play with the different modes under open conditions. This truck can behave really different depending on what you select. GJM and MadCow have shared some of theirs here and I have mine on other posts - but to each their own when it comes to a comfort level with the Offroad/Locker/Tow Haul Ass/ and traction control.
Play with them all so you are comfortable with what the truck does in different conditions.

So one thing I've been wondering about you '11 and '12 guys is can you fully disable traction control or not? I was reading somewhere on here that the newer Raptors can't do a burnout like my '10 is able to. This would lead me to think that even with the press and hold of AdvanceTrac that the nannies are still on.

Yeah don't lock the rear when you're on snow/ice, Recipe for disaster...

I agree, the truck is so versatile, it can be configured to almost every driving condition and drivers comfort/skill level.

Like I said in previous post what works great for me in Missouri mud, wont work for someone in the desert.
