OK, my 2 cents
1) I like the present Raptor's front end, fenders; the new tailgate...(Yeah I'm in the minority!), the new cab, but the old vents; New upfitter switches; new shifter; push button start; Definitely the new tranny, and Fox 3.0's...I wonder how the paddle shifters will pan out running at speed in rough terrain...would like the Torsen front diff to be standard again.
2) The new Raptor is the same width as the old!!!!! The new F 150 is one inch wider than the old; the new Raptor is six inches wider than the new F 150. The first gen Raptor is 7 inches wider than the 2009-2014 F150.
The FRAME is 70% high strength steel...and STRONGER than in any other 2015+ F150. The cab body is aluminum; as is the inner box; not sure about the old Silverado derivative fenders...
Ecoboost? DAMN straight! All of you supercharged engine 'fanbois'...know what? The supercharger ROBS some of the engine power to make boost!!!! The turbo makes boost without any parasitic drain...Turbos unreliable? Tell that to the thousands of truckers going a million miles on their turbo charged diesels...FORD has hit a home run with the ecoboost engines! 2.7 liters and >300hp/400 ft# torque!!!
3) If you buy a truck because of it's sound...is your name Bevis or Butthead?
I give it a 9/10 and hope I can afford one when released!

So many inaccurate statements in this thread. People are just regurgitating random 'Facts' that are completely untrue or misconstrued info as truth.

With that said, i'm still on the fence with this Gen 2. love the interior, unsure on all the electronic doo dads, mixed feelings on the exterior. I haven't even changed the oil on my 14' and already have a little bit of new truck envy. I think that is attributed more to the fact that it is the newest thing out there. I was unsure on the C7 vettes and I haven't seen an ugly one on the street yet. they always impress me when i see them.

I think the Gen1's have a classic look to them and will stand the test of time. I think 20 to 30 years from now they will be more highly saught after by enthusiests than the Gen 2's.

About the EB V6. "there is no replacement for displacement" doesn't hold true once you add boost. I know what everyone is thinking, "well I can boost my V8". That is true but i garantee the EB v6 can make just as much if not more power dollar for dollar. If you want to argue power potential the real argument between the 6.2 and the 3.5 is which Block can hold more power? internals can be upgraded but i'm not aware of any aftermarket blocks for either and at this point in the discussion we are talking about retarded amounts of money. So as far as I'm concerned its a dumb argument. Also, anyone that says turbo's aren't reliable are severely mis-informed.

That said, the EB v6 sounds like shit! for that reason I don't think i could live with it. Hopefully ford will fix the sound the right way! not with some artificail speaker ********.

MPG's. Who Cares!!! noone bought these trucks for the gas milage. (goverment mandates are the reason so if you want to complain, don't complain to ford).
I don't care what the milage is on the street. however, if you can drive 100-200 miles further on a sinlge tank that is a Huge capability for offroading expedition's.

also,
someone photoshop the front grill to be a straight line accross, pull the center part of the bumper up to match. I think that would really eliminate the superduty look and would also improve the approach angle.

that terrain PS looks pretty good too!!

I think you are all avoiding the real question here... dance around it if you want but you know you are thinking it... if I put the new Raptor at mid perch, will I have to get an alignment done? :)

Lol...

nice work m3dragon! It continues to grow on me. Maybe just a few tweaks here and there to get to the final production model and we'll be good to go.

I'm sure it will look great in person, but it kinda looks like they took a cup of black coffee and turned it into a Latte'! They feminized it!

I must be one of the severely miss informed. I remember replacing turbos on Ford vehicles like they were tic-tacs. But over the road diesel turbos last forever so turbos must be reliable:emotions34:

The GT 3.5 features port and direct fuel injection. Maybe the Raptor 3.5 will also. With the way some people argue in this thread, this a step backwards in technology. Gotta take care of that carbon some how.

I went through 2 turbos back to back in my Nissan. So reliability is sketchy with me. They are more sensitive to maint and proper oil changes, Proper cool down before shutting the motor down etc. Oh and as for Diesel turbos. I have seen many seize up due to corrosion between the two metals. Especially if you don't run them every day. So in my world Turbo's are not rock solid technology that can take extreme amounts of abuse/neglect without a lot of love and care. Technology getting better,, Yes,, Holy grail, No. It will be interesting to see how the turbo's hold up for the Baja guys ingesting all that dust and dirt in extreme heat conditions.

Having said that I wouldn't be a fan of turbo'ing the 6.2 as a stock offering either.

Have you not even read the basic specs of the Ecoboost motors? The 3.5 in the 2015 navigator makes 460tq at 2750RPM the Raptor makes 434 at 4500RPM

Which is a significant improvement over what the 6.2 has down low.

I am very well versed in the ecoboost motors,( I have much more experience then just reading specs on them) I am not knocking them but we are only making assumptions on what the raptor numbers will be. Nothing has been publicly released so like I said time will tell. Also I do not hold much value in "specs" over real world performance so I do not get caught up in the spec number races. Sure its a good base line to get an idea of power output but there are so many other variables to consider then just HP and TQ. So again time will tell and I am excited for this next generation of raptor. I do hope the ecoboost is a good as ford makes it out to sound. I look forward to owning it just like many other guys here.

Sorry if my previous post was not clear in my options/thoughts
