Text reading on CarPlay

I am absolutely sick and tired of my music abruptly stopping so CarPlay can read my private texts aloud. Does anyone know of a setting that can stop that?

since you’re using CarPlay, you probably need to quite the phone, rather than the truck.

My iPhone 6 and car play does not do that.
It does display a notification, but that is all.

That's what it should be doing - displaying a notification of your new text. I'm guessing you have some setting on your iPhone that's causing that. Check Settings and see if you can find it.
