Don't want to start anything, but was curious if there was a legit performance test on these. After living with mine, it definitely seems good for short distances, but doesn't have much long range, which would be the quality difference.

What size and type of lights are you referring to? I have inexpensive non name brand light bars (20" & 40") that I purchased on Amazon and they're great. I was up in the mountains of NC in late October and they lit up the road great when driving at night.

Yep, I have the same chinese amazon lights, 30 and 40. Was just curious to see an exact comparison. Basically its distance I'm looking for.

That shootout doesn't have chinese lights. And I'd like to see a real world pic, instead of data numbers.

Thanks for the replies.

I think your best bet is at the next big Raptor run is to take a survey on what brands everyone has and put them all side by side and compare.

I have a 20in Rigid and a Chinese 30" and 40". The Rigid is brighter, however, all the distances are roughly the same. If you want to be able to see far away you need cannons or HIDs. LED is great for about the distance your headlights reach.

What it comes down to

In my opinion what it comes down to is what you can afford. If you don't have one of each light on your truck you will never really know the difference. Some people just have to buy name brands and the most expensive that's why Rolex can sell watches. I have a 30 and 40 behind the grill and the light output more than satisfies my needs and if I do have a problem (my 40 is over two years old) with one I can buy at least three more at the price for one of the name brands. So if you can afford the most expensive and light output is absolutely critical than yeah go for the name brand. If you watch your pennies and want good light output go with the "knockoff".
