I'm going to sound like an old man, but I don't need anything more then normal cruise control. Only reason I use cruise control is when my foot is tired of holding down the gas pedal on long drives. I don't plan on taking my eyes or hands off the wheel ever so that doesn't really seem like it's worth the extra cost. And seriously, auto high beams and wipers...how lazy are we becoming?

I see that you live in Alaska, and that may explain why adaptive cruise control doesn't hold much appeal for you... because (I would assume that) the highways are relatively empty much of the time. Here in Texas, it's rare when I can run my cruise control for more than a few minutes at a time before I come up on someone going slow in the passing lane, or someone jumping out in front of me because they want to get out of the way of the car merging from the on-ramp, or whatever. It seems like I spend more time futzing with the cruise than actually getting a break from holding the throttle open. Additionally, I use it to keep myself from speeding... if left to my own devices, I usually end up at 15 or so MPH over the limit.

I'd think RADAR cruise control would be a good idea because MOOSE

Moose don't come at you from the front, it's the side, and always at the last second. I've never used cruise control on the highways in Alaska because of the wildlife. Those radar systems are designed for traffic in front of you.

ACC is ideal for stop-and-go traffic and rush hour commuting that swings from 60 mph to a standstill. ACC works day and night, but its abilities are hampered by heavy rain, fog, or snow.

I get your point, but I'd take radar cruise (and the automatic front braking that comes with it) to give me a split second advantage for things like below where they did have a moose strike in front

As with every vid, Russians were going way too fast to have any time to react. The second vid I think was somewhere in Europe or the Netherlands and I'm impressed with how well that SUV took that hit.

Get it.... it's cheap (especially on this truck when you think about what you're paying) and has some fun technology and will help resale as well.

I always load it up with all the options since it's nearly impossible to add them later. Just do it... trust me.
