This ^ I thought I'd hate it, especially from the pictures, but in person it is barely noticeable. Sets it off just enough.

I ordered my 2018 without the applique. It is the one thing the factory failed to get right, since my truck came with it installed.

But it turns out I'm glad they messed up because at the time I ordered it I did not know that deleting the applique meant you got the embossed F-150 logo in the sheetmetal which I do not care for. The Blue Oval that bothers so many people is fine with me, but the stamped metal just reeks of Toyota.

Yep. I originally ordered without the applique until I learned they ***** stamp'd it for '18. WTF Ford. I still may buy a used '17 tailgate and have it sprayed to match; I prefer the clean look... most of my recent cars have been debadged.
