We record it and hope for the bestSo out of curiosity when someone punches out the lock and tries to steal the tailgate to find they can’t. What happens? Does the thief just walk away and you have to pay your deductible to get the broken lock fixed or do you pay to fix it yourself. And then what happens if instead the thief gets pissed and brakes a window or scratches your truck?
I’m guessing y’all live in rural or southern states
2018 article says TX & CA higherI read an article that cited Insurance industry stats. A couple years old now...but in 2016 and 2017 combined, there were over 3,600 reported tailgate thefts. The top 5 states, which accounted for 80% of the thefts, in order were Texas, California, Florida, Arizona and Nevada. TX and CA were by far the worst with over 60% of thefts.
