I prefer JDM tuning personally. It can void the warranty, but it is moderately safe, that is a risk you take modifying a vehicle. You will get the same gas mileage roughly, possibly better.
It wont really impact sound. Sound is a big thing on these trucks, its something I hear comments on the most, which to me is odd. A lot of people mess with the exhaust, but I think that is the wrong path. There is NO WAY to make this sound like a V8, and to me, why bother? It isnt one. It is a twin turbo V6! The way to go is make the turbos louder. I say, add an intake (I run AFE), add a BOV, (I use turbo smart). Now you hear the glorious turbo sounds like it was meant to be! If youre feeling froggy, do some downpipes (wish I had the cash for these).
was a bit rough letting her go, especially when you slowly built it up over the years. As a truck enthusiasts, and im sure you all will agree, we are always checking out rides. I knew I was going to pick up something newer, but nothing was really popping. Safe road was to go get a new Tacoma or even jump to a 4 runner... Raptors have always caught my eye tho. But I would talk you all down, like where are they [raptor owners] going. You don't need that, yada-yada-yada. Then I thought about it and I started saying "they can go anywhere they damn well please " lol, so yes im in and glad I took the jump.
