Sync issues between phone and radio

Anyone have issues syncing their phone completely to the radio?

My BBZ10 use to work flawlessly synced to my 2011 SCrew including reading text etc.....last week for some reason it stopped.

I tried repairing but no go...phone works with radio but no text anymore....

Anyone have the same issue?

Mine did that last year when my POS Droid downloaded some updates on its own. Then that phone went **** up and the replacement POS DROID does the same. I get all my phone book entrys and all but no more text. I liked that feature. Now use to not having it. Wifes new Explorer works with both phones on all aspects including text so its not my phone.....

Huh...wondered if it was possibly the radio as XFM has been doing updates...

I have a 12 and My droid stopped last year after an update also. I was wondering if Ford offered an update on the sync system that would fix it but never really looked into it.

I have an '11 and mine quit showing me names of people that text. It just says unknown, but I at least get the messages...75% of the time. It is definitely flakey and it used to work fine.

Previously I've been able to fix it by deleting the phone from the radio and the radio from the phone. Then restarting the phone and starting the pairing process from scratch.

If you want to do some research, you can check the change log on the update and see if it updated Bluetooth MAP (Message Access Profile), which is the profile used for text messages. Audio uses a different profile, so it isn't really a surprise that one can work while the other doesn't.

If you figure anything out, please post back. I'd be interested to know. Since I'm still actually getting the messages, I haven't really taken time to figure out why.

Do you know if your cell phone provider sent a firmware update? Sometimes those will make changes to the way the phone interacts with Bluetooth devices. Does your truck have nav or a standard radio?

Truck has Nav and Radio has latest updates done by dealer....worked perfect after update to radio. Repaired my phone at one point and that worked till I shut off the truck one day. I am not aware of any updates to my phone as I have auto update shut off....

I will try re-pairing or syncing my phone this afternoon to see if that fixes it....

Thanks Jaclyn. Not sure how I find out which version of sync I have. My phone now automatically pairs with sync but I have to manually connect it and I don't get text notifications. That may be it. The phone book wouldn't download for a while but I think I had fixed that, maybe. Thanks for any help you can offer.

If you don't have text to speech for an BT ear piece it not going to work on the Sync either.

Google and Phone carriers have be disabling this feather for fear of law suits.
