So, as an update my buddy took his into the shop for this and he said they replaced a module. It was not under warranty anymore, but they did it at no cost. And it fixed his issue.

Fair. They replaced it with a new APIM with the previous (pre-May) software build installed. The issue will resurface if he upgrades to this latest build because it’s bugged. Tell him to stick with his current SW build and to not upgrade.

i used syn3updater to fix my brothers f150 no nav after it went constant boot screen, so id imagine you could use this tool to roll it back as well.. going to turn auto updates off on my truck right now..

I just received an email from Ford that indicated the SYNC 3 on my 2019 is ready for update. It is a subscription service and I assume it will rectify the problem
