But I think you have to consider that this is a 70,000 dollar truck.... and let's face it.... if a tune and larger turbos can give you 200bhp more.... why didn't Ford do it?

A few reasons I'm sure..... one is reliability.... and not Ford GT type reliability..... daily driver off-road truck type reliability.

Then there is probably a safety component... let's face it.... it's a 6000 pound carnival ride. Ford engineers have to consider the platform and how much power is safe to put to the ground with it...

A tune... bolt ons.... you've got a really quick truck that becomes alive over stock...

When you go to the next level... think... specialty vehicle... not daily driver.

It's hard to say. Taking a GEN1 as an example, Ford delivered it with 411hp. ROUSH made it 590hp with a warranty. The Roush charged GEN1's seemed to do fine in reliability.

Excellent point, but I'll let you guys build up a couple of years worth of data to be sure.... which is essentially what we have on the 6.2 now...

Even with that it took some figuring out.... without the right gaskets and bolts and torque... under boost they leaked like a sieve.

for the gen 2, i am pretty sure full race will come out with a nice kit like for the gen 1 ecoboost. probably 2 efr 7163 properly tuned with downpipe, exhaust will get the gen2 into the 550-650 on the ground range. past that i think the block will blow without reinforcement. lucky us livernois is in r&d for a powerstorm upgrade kit too. they just did a gen 1 ecoboost that should put out 750hp to the ground. rated at 950bhp.

edit. if anyone does anything like i said please start with the brakes. hp is no good if you can't control it.

I remember from looking at there different GTR builds, that they do different stages, that would more than likely go from very street-able/ daily driver, up to ultimate drag strip/race tune. I would bet whatever they come up with, it'll be of the highest quality.

The intake ID on that Garrett is the size of the whole OEM turbo lol

The same reason Nissan didn't ship the gtr with 850hp.
