I have a Gen 2, 802a, avalance SCrew. Such a fun truck and the first 'fancy/tricked' kind of vehicle I've ever had. Always driven regular F-150 4x4 or Fx4 types for about 10 yrs at a time. Have found myself grinning like an idiot nearly every time I'm daily driving the Raptor. Great ride, fun truck, took it on the Alpine Loop in Ouray in the summer. However, I keep fighting the urge the trade it on an diesel 250 which would allow me more bed space and be more of a 'work' truck, could tow potential heavier loads (think large camper for the family), haul more firewood, etc.

I'm not 'needing' a heavy tow truck, but feel like when i've added some payload, the Raptor sags a bunch and fully understand why. Just like I don't 'need' the full power of a 250, I don't 'need' a Raptor, it's just fun to drive. Has anyone gone from a Raptor to a SuperDuty? Do any of you have both and if so, which are you driving more often?

I keep thinking a SuperDuty would be more like the 10-12 year do-it-all truck where a Raptor may not be a full 10 year type rig. But then I drive it, see it, look at it, etc. and just smile. First world problems.

Thanks in advance for any input for those that have/had both types and have some comparison experience.

had an f250 and I wouldn't own one of those for 10yrs as it's way too expensive to fix out of warranty. Same boat as raptor in my opinion. I do miss the bigger bed but not f250 ride. If I need the bed room I borrow my buddies trailer. Maybe Deaver HD springs would help or a trailer or both? my .02

I came from a 2017 F350 Platinum and while I miss being the biggest truck on the road and a couple other little options that the Raptor didnt have, I couldnt imagine going back as a daily driver. In the future I am hoping to pick up one for work truck but currently need a bigger garage then :)

I’ll wait and see how the new 7.3 holds up. I would recommend changing rear springs as @f150jack said. Either Deaver or Icon make great rear springs based on reviews posted. If you still don’t feel like it’s enough then at least you attempted to make it work, it’s a shame there wasn’t a better spring in the rear from the factory.

Just left the F250 world. I had a 17 Platinum. Will not go back unless I need to tow something very heavy. More expensive to own with higher cost of diesel, oil changes $100+, fuel filters, DEF and not great gas milage. Seats are not as comfortable as the Raptor, but I do miss the massage function. Certainly not as fun to drive on or off road. No regrets making the change, the Raptor brings more joy to my driving experience. The Raptor has enough utility for my needs.upload_2019-2-21_20-36-7.jpeg

My buddy has owned a new 250 for about 3 months . He's now looking to trade in for a Raptor . Depends on what your needs are.

I have been a diesel freak since I was a kid on the farm. My last two trucks were 2015 and 2018 powerstroke. The torque on the new diesels is insane. I was tired of the lumber wagon ride, little fun factor and living with the fantasy that I would be pulling 30k lbs daily. I needed a change and ended up in a raptor. I've had the raptor less than a week but I'm very happy with the choice right now. I'm sure I will end up in a super duty again, but it won't be the primary truck. Life's short. Do what you think you want.
