Guys,

Thanks for the input! After seeing those pics, I think I'll give the duals a try vice the lightning model.

Either way I think I'll be happy.

Holy shit dude. Did you run the damn thing over a couple times after you cut it off? Lol. I'm getting ready to put my order in for the entire system but it looks like you got the factory connect vs the performance connect. I wonder if that's the problem? Beside the fact that there's no hanger to hold it up just in front of the leaf spring?

Glad to see you guys aren't afraid to put your Raptor thru some off-road abuse, we know these trucks aren't cheap, but kudos for getting the best use out of them, wish I was there to enjoy some carnage!!!

Best practice is to have the clamps tack welded to prevent them from moving, especially if you intend to run off-road. Remember you have a long wheelbase truck and the exhaust is almost perfectly in the middle, so yes it will be your weakpoint but that is nature of design. BTW inspect your brake lines front & rear as those will tend to catch on rocks, tree branches, stumps, etc., definitely don't want a brake failure to happen. Just saying from personal experience.

The SW Ligtning exhaust will offer the most effective ground clearance in comparison to our under the bumper or OE style exit locations. The long leaf sprung rear suspension uses most of its wheel travel when running off-road and the lightning exhaust will allow the best possible clearance.

We also like the idea of the exhaust skid plate, this sounds like a necessary item along with some rock sliders!!

It does matter if its rock or high speed, in my opinion. Long as you hit a bump, it will cause the exhaust to turn down over time as it hits off the frame,....so I got it welded, but now...it just bangs off the frame....and is annoying as hell...but hey it doesn't turn down.

I also question the design on the hangers, it would be nice if there were 2 hangers, rather then just one.

In hind sight I would go with the true dual exhaust

Jordan's failed at the SW weld at the 1 into 2 just ahead or the muffler. The pipe behind it came right off like it was cut with a band saw.

I had an extra hanger welded on to mine. It doesn't move anywhere
