Ok as promised from hijacking an earlier thread, here are my complete (hopefully) install instructions since SVC does not provide any. First off removal of front bumper. There are a few YouTube videos. Pretty easy stuff. Here is a link to the video I used.

Now your truck will look like this.

From there I assumed(incorrectly) that I could just trim the lower intercooler shroud.

As you can see I notched it to make room for the light mount, bit I didn’t realize that I needed space for the lights and also the bumper will not sit flush unless you remove the entire lower intercooler. This involves removing the grill.

Now to finally install this SVC bolt on bumper. Oh, but wait, in order to attach the bumper you need to remove the steering bolts. The passenger side is slightly larger 15/16 and the driver side is 21mm. And they are a bitch to get off!

And impossible to relighted unless you lift the truck. Thankfully my buddy does transmission work so he let me use his lift. And the final product look pretty awesome.

Pretty happy with the results. I Haven’t installed the lights yet as a small part of me wants to just go balls to the wall and cut the frame. If so I will be selling my month old CV Fab intercooler and getting the SVC intercooler and Baja bumper. Funny thing is my biggest reason why I originally went with the bolt on was not because I was scared to cut the frame (ok maybe a little scared lol) but mostly because I figured it would be super straight forward and easy. I didn’t know I would be removing my entire front grill along with the panels surrounding the lights and tearing shit up, removing a bolt bigger than my... haha haha. I mean I have a bunch of tools and they just look nice but I don’t know how to use them lol. I figured it couldn’t be that bad so f- it and that’s what I did....and I lived to talk about it.

Oh 1 more thing. Make sure you like your intercooler because the new skid plate arms do not allow access to remove it unless you remove the entire bumper and Ford recommends that those steering bolts are 1 time use. Not to mention you’re gonna need to lift the truck. Replacement steering bolts are $8 each online. Torque is a whopping 325. My torque wrench maxed out at 150 so I’m going to have to get it tightened somewhere down the line.

My experience was similar. My steering rack bolts were a huge bitch to get out. Like 1150 ft lb electric guns didn’t do it. Pushed my breaker bar to the limit removing them (not just breaking lose). Also brutal to put back in. I ended up having to use the bolts as chasers to get factory loctite out.

Also, you can cut clearances in the intercooler vent box top to get to the top bolts w a wrench to not pull the grill. I just used tin snips and players to cut and break the plastic lip blocking access.
