Gen 2 owner here thinking of a Gen 3 because of these very issues in my 2018. I know next gen Fox shocks and rear coils in the Gen 3, but mine has been a rattle trap since 20K miles even with new Fox shocks installed just now at 50K miles - rattling louder than ever. Thinking Roush F150 or Super Duty next... Really a shame, nothing more fun than the raptor...

Did you attempt to fix it? 20k happy miles and then a change indicates, well, a change.

You think stock internal bypass shocks are loud?

It's been at the dealer 2x for a week each time... brake caliper clips, new shocks, heat shields, skid plates, sway bar link ends, IWE check valve all looked at or replaced and it is still rattling... They did fix the rattling pano moon roof through the TSB.. Regional Tech Service manager has no solutions and dealer's service manager is stumped. It could be internal shock noise inherent to their design. But, it did not rattle when new, and replacing the shocks didn't fix it. Service manager suggests its not uncommon for Raptors to be noisy. I can feel the rattle in the left from suspension along with hearing the noise. I love Ford trucks and the Raptor - but it needs to better than thi$.

I have the same exact issues with my 2020 raptor. Clunking noise in the suspension and rough harsh ride. Dealer replaced the vdm twice already. Clearly they are stumped. All this even before 20000 miles. I'm ready to trade in NOT for a ford

The issye regarding Gen 3 shock noise/hash ride does not pertain to Gen 2. So you do not have the same exact issue.

This is your first post, how about introducing yourself in the new members section and providing some background? New/used? Mods? Vehicle history?

Just here to say that I also have this issue on my Gen 2… Only 55K miles and has had since I bought the truck at 47K miles. Dealer told me that it is normal and inherent to the design of the (Fox) shocks.

For what it’s worth - I traded my gen 2 due to the unresolved rattling suspension and bought a new ‘21 Gen 3 in March ‘22. Admittedly there is a bit of a muffled rattle in the front suspension on scrambled surfaces - running in sport mode does improve the stability minimizing the rattle with the Gen 3. It’s not nearly the level of annoyance as the Gen 2. I buy trucks to run them to 150k+ miles but traded the Gen 2 at 48k. Couldn’t take that rattle - sounded looser than my ‘79 F150 at 100k miles back in the day.
