Great video it lets me address specific retarded statements made by the idiot that designed it. I want manual locking hubs , I will get my lazy ass out of the truck and lock them myself. Fewer things to break and easy to maintain.. God I hope your not the guy in the video Hock... Im sorry if you are no offense. But in a real 4x4 I want to control it myself I am not a child and do not need some self important engineer to design something thats not broke. It works fine manually and I think given the option most prefer the manual hubs... Ok my time is up... back to Ford..

Here is what I am planning and looking into...

The new Dynatrac Pro60-IRS™ axle is based on the renowned high strength of Dana 60 gears and differentials. Dynatrac is no stranger to high torque, abusive rear end design, thanks to well over 20 years experience in manufacturing ultra-high durability Dana 60 based axles for tough off road applications. The Dynatrac Pro60-IRS™ features a nodular iron housing for high rigidity, and 35-spline CV output shafts. The Dynatrac Pro60-IRS™ housing utilizes standard Dana 60 9.75” ring and pinion gears with ratios from 3.54 to 7.17. The Dynatrac Pro60-IRS™ is ideal for todays ultra high-performance engine options. The Dynatrac Pro60-IRS™ eliminates housing, differential and gear-life problems under severe use. The Dynatrac Pro60-IRS™ also supports industry leading 35-spline locking and limited-slip differentials including the ARB AirLocker, Eaton’s Detroit Locker and Eaton Truetrac. The Dynatrac Pro60-IRS™ axle also includes the same 100-percent American-made components used on the company’s other Pro Series axles.

How the IWE works told by the design engineer
Ford F150 - 4 Wheel Drive Disconnect - YouTube

so basically it's for the guy that owns a boat and lives in town. I do think it's a good idea, even farming application's we don't put it in 4x4 unless you have to especially if you have to get out, then it doesn't go back in until you notice it a few week's later. I think it just needs to be a longer spindle with a two gear that locks it. like a pto on a tractor but have a smaller and bigger male to female locking system. I don't know how to explain it but basically have a shaft with splines and further back the shaft gets bigger with splines the smaller one lining up the bigger one. tell ford getter done.

Ford and borg warner are NOT interested in making any type of manual hub conversion. There is NOT enough demand to warrant a redesign..

lol... manual hub redisign.... I can send them pictures been around for 50 years I have them on my 69 bronco so Ford should have heard about them... and it is not genius to add a switch to indicate locked but of course you gotta get out and lock them.. Auto locks are just a point to fail... I want good old fashioned I turn a knob there locked it is very simple to do ..... I prefer simple myself...
