Thanks for sharing the video. I'm sure it will help out some of those looking to upgrade their systems.

Nice job on the install, very clean looking in the end. Clever location for your crossover box as well. The knobs look clean though, TBH I may have installed both in the same location. The only concern I would have with the amp location is overheating but I don't know which model or the specs of the JL amp you have.

Do you have any pics of the sub box? What did you do with your jack, or was it even located where you placed your sub box?

Again, good job and very clean...especially in the engine compartment. Oh, BTW your amp is crooked...

Thanks for embedding, i couldnt figure out how to. Some forums do it automatically.

Only time will tell about the amp location and temperatures. There is plenty of space around it to ventilate tho. Its a common spot for ppl to place amps, and most ppl don't have problems. I was playing it today at relatively high volume for about 30 minutes with the windows open and 85 degrees outside. It didnt shut down or cut out. Ive been told the JL audio amps have a pretty good threshold for heat.

I will take some pics of the sub box later on, for you.

I had to completely remove the jack tho. cuz the sub box goes right where it is located. I am gonna figure out a place to put it. tho for now its in my garage at home.

haha and yea my amp is crooked, you were paying attention! :turtle:

Thanks for the comments guys, hopefully it helps a few people out.

^^ If the JL gives you any issues due to heat check out the Alpine PDA-5 (5-channel), all digital amp that can easily fit underneath almost any seat. I have it installed in my LC with Pioneer components up front, Pioneer coaxials in the rear doors and driving a 10" sub...never had an issue with the amp or any of the Premier components.

When I installed my brother's stereo years ago in his Isuzu PUP his amp ended up being installed behind his seat...his bench seat, the only seat.

When you post the images of the box under the seat can you post the box specs or post a link to the manuf.

Sorry i forgot to get pictures, i will later im installing rigid duallys for reverse flood lights today so ill be out and about. Ill make sure a snap a few pics of teh sub box.

I got the box from supercrewsound.com. They make a single sub box, or a double. and you can choose to have either an 8, 10 or 12 inch sub holes cut. Mine is just a single and its a 10".

Here is the link
Ford F-150 Extended | Super Cab Subwoofer Boxes - Subwoofer Box | Subwoofer Enclosures | Car Subwoofer Boxes and Truck Subwoofer Boxes at SuperCrewSound

They also make boxes for Supercrew cabs as well.

Do a search on either this forum or the other forum there's several pictures posted on how to get seat down. There's also a couple of videos on YouTube.
