I am with everyone for the most part, I LOVE the looks of the scab! BUT in my case I'll have to cart around a rear facing car seat pretty soon and with a scab that just isn't going to work out too well. I will likely end up ordering a screw, especially since my current truck is a screw I am used to the added space everyday (believe me I can fill it up with junk daily).

I'm having this debate myself but with the regular f150's

Leaning towards the s.cab myself.

I had a SCAB on my last F-150 an 06. Started out with your exact statement, of who needs the extra room, I won't need it. I found quickly that I wanted the extra room, and got tired of the suicide style of doors. The New F-150 and Raptors have the awesome fully flat floor, which I did not have before, and could of changed my opinion. When researching for my new truck i decided I had to have the SCREW. Seriously consider it, but I LOVE how much room I have, and only person in my truck daily is my dog.

If you don't tow much and don't really need the extra room, then save the cash and go for the SCab.

For me, I've only owned crew cabs since our kids were born. The extra room is a must for the 4 of us and all our stuff.

You can't go wrong...

If you ask my opinion, you can't go wrong with either choice.

Performance = lighter and tighter
Survival = adaptability and versatility

Performance = Super Cab
Survival = Crew Cab

I just got my Crew Cab. My buddy has had a Super Cab for a few months before me. We have similar family/passenger situations. I can tell that he looks longingly at mine. I look longingly at his. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Get one. You won't be sorry either way.

This is how I rationalize my choice; In a post-apocolyptic world, I choose my Crew Cab for survival. Bigger people space for guns and ammo. The Crew Cab has significantly more interior space. More doors for faster getaways from zombies. Can haul more with a longer wheel base. I think that performance in off-road is determined more by traction and terrain than size and weight. Etc... The Super Cab peeps will have their own rationalizations.

Get one, you won't be sorry. I think I said that twice. I guess that I mean it.

Best post I've read in a long time. Seriously.

I'm not really too too worried about Zombies [and yes, I capitalize that], but I am HUGE on survivability. One reason I own a Raptor. Sure, I do think that a 250 diesel with an 8" lift and 38's would be better and the installation of huge, heavy steel bumpers with sharp hooks would hands-down be better in a no-shit survival situation -- but the Raptor and it's speed, capability, power, off-road insanity and how plush the interior and ride is; I cannot think of anything more that I'd want to plant my ass in.

I'm not really worried about Zombies or anything like that and sometimes when I get in "survival mode" and I want my guns mounted in the back window a`la Resident Evil; sometimes I want that F-250 I spoke of above.

I love the Raptor.

I was thinking more along the lines of this bumper on a 250...

That's a hell of a front bumper if you ask me! The guy is a member over on F150onilne and was an pro storm chaser or something of that nature. It's a pretty intense truck

Holy shit! I would definitely rock something like that on the Raptor. Who the F makes that?
