Strange phone call from a dealer

Facelift, V-10, 6X6 coming 2020. Dealers required to sell at MSRP. No point in ordering a 2018 now. Just wait.

You can't get them off their ridiculous mark ups here in augusta Georgia either. My options were $73k plus some mark up on a well optioned 18(before taxes), a base 18 for $62k (before taxes) or a loaded 14 with 4 year platnuim warranty for $49k. (After taxes).

I did the math and realized after taxes etc. I was going to be about equally upside down no matter what. Decided to save about $25,000 and get the Gen 1.

FWIW its a daily driver but i only do about 8,000 miles a year tops. If i drove 15,000 miles plus like many of you do i would have bitten the bullet w an 18. For much of my quick trips around town, i prefer my 500hp sports car. The truck is literally going to be my beater for abuse, places w crowded parking lots and trips expecting bad weather.

Its because they struggled to sell those 2017 Unicorns over MSRP and are now realizing they lost shit loads of sales to reasonable dealers and are trying to do damage control. When they heard about dealers like Bayou Bobs in Louisiana lining up 500 buyers at MSRP waiting on allocations while they sold 2 at 5K over...they did the math.

hey hey now... bayou bob's would be happy to sell 500 raptors at msrp for ford.

In fact, the whole gt350R adm fiasco could have been avoided if Ford had just let bayou bob sell all of them.

(it is completely ok to poke fun at Mississippi, but Louisiana is off limits. )

I custom ordered mine at Court Street Ford in Bourbanais for MSRP back in January. They are awesome and sell all their vehicles at MSRP or lower. Try them.
