I've got a similar clunk with slow rolling and turning in my truck. an occasional pop clunk. Time to head to the dealer I suppose. I've got Fox3.0 up front but all else up there is stock. Hope they don't give me problems with that.

I recently started noticing an audible clunk from what seems to be my front driver's side wheel area. It doesn't take anything extreme to make it happen - it's observable during normal driving over slight bumps (driveways, dips in road, etc). It's a new a noticeable thing. I've climbed all around and can't find anything that appears loose, or shiny, or out of sorts. I'm going to take it into the dealer soon, but figured I'd check in here for ideas. My best bet is that something is up with the coil-over or maybe the sway bar? Whatever it is, it obviously takes more force to make it happen than I can exert with my arms to find it. I haven't been able to feel anything different in the ride, but it's enough of a clunk to make me worry. The front end is all stock with the exception of being on middle perch (has been for a few years). This is a 2012 Screw with 38,000 miles. It hasn't been on any recent wheeling trips and this wasn't gradual. It just started the other day.

I had this issue. I took it in to the dealership and when I picked it up I was told that it was my LCA, it had came loose and just had to be tightened up. hopefully that is helpful to you.

That could be it for sure! It wasn't noticeable to me under there - but I suspect it wouldn't be. I'd prefer that over a ball joint!

Came loose where? If its loose where it bolts to the frame then I would think your alignment would be out of whack. Other than that the steering knuckle?

Thats what my rep at the ford dealership had told me, the clunk was really bad then after it was buttoned up it felt nice and solid and i agree the ball joint would be a pain in the ass.

it came loose where it bolts on to the body of the truck itself, and yes after they buttoned it all up and made sure everything was nice and tight they did have to do a realignment. The alignment was infact way out of whack. as for the steering knuckle there were no issues with it at all.

The noise I'm hearing is similar to what you hear in the video... I do hear a clunking in the front, low speed over rough terrain. I have made sure everything is nice and tight as well.

I had a clunk coming from my passenger front wheel as you had described. I had worked on the front suspension several times before hearing/feeling the clunk. After climbing under the truck more times than I wanted too and racking my brain for a cause, I found that my lower shock bushing had worn out and was no long tight inside the bore of the lower shock mount. Since there are no replacement parts for these shocks (other than having them rebuilt by Fox), I decided to install a new pair of stock shocks. Well, no more noise, no more clunk. Everything is nice and tight and quiet now. Might want to have the dealership checkout those bushings. Checking for play in the bushing is the same as checking a ball joint.

Here's a pic of the culprit.

Dealer is giving me the "We don't hear anything, everything's fine" routine. I'm going to go in tomorrow and go for a ride with them.

Well, I have the truck back. Dealer says it's "normal". There is nothing wrong with the balljoint/bushing/coilover/etc. So I guess I have one random clunk from my front driver's side suspension for the rest of my truck's life. So my rear shocks chirp and my front one clunks. The only one not making noise is my front passenger - and this is as designed. I have 38,000 miles.
I dunno man. :shitsweak:

Most of the "clunks" I have heard come from the lower control arm bolts or the shock mounting bolts. Checked to see if these are all tight.
