Here are some pictures of my tailgate with the clamp installed.
I posted this a few months ago. If I was you I would spin it so that you have to get under the truck to take it off.

Why not just lock it if you are in a place where it can be stolen??
Locks are easily picked. Or you may have forgotten to lock it, either way it happens and this is just 1 extra step that can save yo from a huge headache.

They could also just unscrew my hose clamp, but it may be enough to stop them becuase they cant just open and lift. I do lock it though too.

That's why you do it from the bottom, they may not want to unscrew it from the bottom and will move onto the next truck

And for 5K, I will run the truck without a tailgate until I sell the damn thing. 5K is f-ing ridiculas

I got the McGard lock. Same company that makes lugbolt wheel locks. If someone wants to defeat it, just like a hose clamp...they could. But it definitely makes it a little harder for when I forget to lock it.

I also bought the solenoid door locker thingy that was listed in the other thread...have yet to tackle installing it so that the tailgate locks when I lock the doors. But seemed like a good idea.
