Steering Rack Failure Help!

I have a 2018 Raptor with an H&M kit on it with some good use at 57,000 miles. My steering rack went out and got a quote from a local dealer for $3200. Seems steep. Any recommendations? Is a raptor rack different than a stock ford? Are they vin specific?

Yes they are vin specific when ordering from Ford. I’m not up on the Gen 2s racks, but the Gen 1s come with new tie rods as well. Does sound expensive, did they give you a break down on the parts and labour? Must be about 2k for just the rack, holy

Damn, they’ve gone up, less than grand for a Gen 1, try another dealer and see if you can get a discount?

I had the rack on my 2012 SHO back in 2012 go out. Fortunately under warranty. Guy told me it was $2,200 just for parts.
