I don't know anything specific about the way the ECU on the Raptor compensates for cold starts but most retard the timing, increase the idle speed, and dump more fuel in an open loop mode for cold start. I assume the Raptor does the same and then as soon as the ECU receives the signal that it's warm enough it'll go back into closed loop and everything smooths out again. Mine is always rougher at cold start but I see no problem with it. All fuel injected rigs do this to some degree.

And, any vehicle that has had a good amount of time(8 hours)at a soak the next start is a cold start no matter what the ambient temp is... So you could be in death valley and park your vehicle over night or after a 8 hour day of work and its a clod start up and drive away...

Well I'm thinking that like some of you who are saying the ECU compensates by adding fuel makes sense. Like I said the truck only does it for a second maybe two then never again. I've put a tank through it today and beat the hell out of it at an off road park...so I'll update tomorrow after it sits over night.

Btw my truck is a 2012, and it was built december 17 of 2011 I believe.

My 2012 has done that from day 1 and sometimes it also sounds like a mouse or bird is getting flung out of the fan at the start up! And yes I've checked...no blood or parts!

Mine just started doing this within the last week too... It is a 2012 with just over 10,000 miles. It's not rough enough to make me think it's gonna die - just rough enough to get my attention...

I like this for so many reasons

...and yet people are STILL posting up rude, lewd, ****** commentary to a post detailing a possible mechanical issue.

Why, oh why is it necessary to comment on damn near every post Ms. MI Raptor makes on this board, along with the other female members and turn it into some sex-pot contest of hilarity?

Seriously.:whymewhyme:

Agreed, but it is hard to give your "Damsel in Distress" comments much weight when your Avatar is of a Green Thing jerking off! Just saying!

This happened to me for the first time yesterday. when I started the Raptor the idle was so rough and sporadic that I was literally bouncing in my seat.
