My entire system I ordered is going to be the "Black Out" series thermal coating. Header wrap would not be a good idea in my region. Wetness from rain and from me washing my engine every time I wash my truck plus this seasons healthy dosing of road salt would destroy the headers if I wrapped them.

If you drive your truck every day then you shouldn't worry about header wrap holding moisture. Especially with 304 grade stainless. Gotta be realistic....

Kinda what I was thinking. The headers should dry them out pretty quickly. He'll, might steam clean your engine bay for you. I know, wishful thinking.

My Red spark plug wire protectors came in. I was told 4-6 weeks for them to come in from getting black ceramic coated inside and out. I'm curious if I should get the starter heat shield wrap thing that's on amazon. Anyone having starter issues? Isn't the starter or wires something to take into consideration when we do these headers?

not a bad idea. I didn't think about it but I would say for the money is worth it. the headers run right past the starter.good thinking!

Have had my sw headers since 2011 have not had any starter issues. If I remember correctly think there is a factory shield over the starter
