Just yesterday I had the truck back at the dealer to re-evaluate the knock. It really bugs the hell out of me. Brought the info regarding the lower shock bolts not being properly torqued and asked them to check the torque. Picked it up last night and the noise is still there. They told me they re-torqued them.

Pretty maddening. I'm starting to think it IS the shock design.

What did the Icons cost you? Might be tempted to change the shocks just to get rid of the damn knocking. Doesn't say a lot about Fox. Has anyone ever contacted them about the issue? Wonder what they have to say.

Icons front and rear are like 5k retail. But then you will want the upper control arms. And once you've done all that why not do the bump stop kit. Ha, but seriously if you're interested in the ICONs I would be happy to meet up with you so you can see/feel them in person.

Whoa...5k huh? Might be a little much to get rid of some knocking. lol

Might be nice to have you come for a ride and see what you think. Would like to see your truck as well. Thanks for the offer. I'll PM you next week and we'll find a time that works.

The noise from the front passenger shock is gone. :Moon: Replaced the stock shocks with Fox 3.0's from RGP. Its like owning a different truck.

I tried everything to get the stock shock to quiet down. Re-torque, new bolt/nut, check, double check torques. Nothing worked. When I got the stock shocks off, I found the lower shock bushing somewhat loose. I know it suppose to turn once the lower bolt is tightened, but this seemed excessive. Maybe that was the cause of the noise in the front end.

Hmmm, I too thought I was going crazy hearing this sound. I took it to two different front end specialists thinking something was broke and I just couldn't find it. Glad to know it was just the cold pointing out I obviously need to upgrade my suspension.

Ok, I know everyone is burned out of the front suspension clunking topic, but I've got a head-scratcher here. I would call myself a non-off-roader, and with the truck at 90,000 miles, I was beginning to get some components wearing and was tired of some clunking going on. So I decided to do everything, replacing pretty much the whole front end with brand new OEM parts, UCA's, LCA's, bushings, tie rods, top hats, Geiser springs, etc., and making sure all of the torques are in spec. I did not change any steering components due to them being very sound and solid. So the only thing not new was the newly rebuilt shocks with all the options & correct nitrogen psi from my favorite shop in the country. My ride drastically improved, but still have a little bit of the clunking going when going over short jagged bumps that is still driving me crazy, even with running my tire pressures on the low side. When I posted this on a couple of the other Raptor Forums, the guys kept going back to the shocks, and that I would hear & feel a difference with a brand new OEM/Fox shock versus any rebuilt shock. I pretty much discounted that theory and I have returned to my shop to have everything re-checked and re-torqued. And when the guys that did all the work test drive my truck, they are now leaning toward the shocks, even though there is no leakage and the psi's are right on. So I thought I would turn to the professionals on this Forum for any thoughts. Thank-you very much!

That sounds like a great idea, especially if it improved the clunking. But I thought it took some serious customizing to make the 3.0's work on our 2013 trucks? I also inquired about the Icons but was told that they had noise issues also....but sound like one of the guys on this thread had good luck with them.
