Here is a trick we used to use on low riders back in the day:
1 small spray bottle
1 bottle of rubbing alcohol
1-5 tubes of dry graphite lube - like you would use on a door lock

Mix and spray. The alcohol flows the graphite into some small areas then evaporates. YMMV but it has worked on more than one instance for me.

will the alcohol damage the *rubber* contact pads?

I've never seen it hurt rubber. I haven't tried it on the rap tho.

I use the same mixture in lock cylinders on anything exterior.
Just dont drip the wet mix on stuff - its hard to clean off when dry.

I've had that issue!

I've had that squeak now for over 1 1/2 years, the truck has been in the shop many times and looked at by a Ford service rep. Tried the cleaning, graphite lube. Helped for a little while then they sent it to a spring shop for new different rubber pads. Some of them have now fell out, I made some out of left over molded floor mats that have bends in them so they fit the spring and don't fall out. I have a squeak coming from the other pads, I try to clean the springs often to get the sand out.

I went to the dealership yesterday for the very same problem. The tech applied some lube to the pads, problem solved (temporarily). He said he doesn't understand why they don't lube them during manufacturing. Apparently I'm not he first one in there with this problem...

All good for now, until I take it offroad again ;)

I keep some deep creep grease:********: in the under seat storage box and it will prevemt the squeak for around 1000 miles. If you dont have time for white lithium grease and silicon lubricant, use deep creep grease! :********:

Somebody should try the Fluid Flim or the Amsoil. I did an undercoat test in the detailing forum. Over here http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f36/clear-undercoat-1622/

The FF is not good as an undercoat in my test, but it is a wax formulation and stays wet. The can says its a lube for moving parts. I have done extensive reasearch on the three products tested. The FF seems to get good reviews on lawn and tractor sites. Stuff with moving parts and things like snow plows where they do not want the snow to stick on the plow. Off that thread you can get a free sample of the FF, not sure if its enough to get the job done.

The Amsoil says its a lube also. I wonder if anyone that has under coated their Raptor with the Amsoil has this problem?

If it works, it may be an easier way and you may not have to lift the truck and mess with the grease, just shoot it in there, it may work its way where it needs to be lubed.

I do not have a Raptor yet to try. But The very first thing I am doing is Amsoil undercoat, maybe that problem will not show up.

Its worth a shot. Hey, somebody with the problem try and let us know.
