So if you look at the orientation of my inside shock tube, it is in a direct path with the spring as it compresses.

I assume he has the same design, or same two right side shocks as you. Just find it strange fox would send two right sides out without catching it.

The clamp really isn't needed

They'll sack out before the clamp becomes an issue

Is the short comp tube facing in? Some pics i see it looks like its out, or more outward but other pics like Bo's looks like its inward.
