Great...........got no gold boxes just lights and plugs. Just lights and absolutly no directions of any kind. Not nearly as well packed as the Spyders I purchased for my other truck. Were made in Republic of China and look to be pretty decently made. Now I am pissed I received no "gold boxes" just plugs. Once installed if I get hyperflash will sell to my neighbor and get Spyders. Just could not pass up this price. I wonder if you tube has a current install of F 150. The one I saw on you tube had no gold boxes of any kind and just one plug top and bottom like my Spyders did. This thing has two plugs on top and two on the bottom of each light and not exactly sure where to put the second set of plugs unless the go to that missing "gold box". A nice video would be appreciated!!!

Hmmm...here is a video from Spyder Auto's website showing the install of the tails on a Raptor...I do not see any mention of load resistors nor do I see any shots of the lights with the turns engaged....

So what's up with these videos that do not address the hyper flash issue? Do the padres have the resistors in the harness or what?

Spec-d has a installation video as well and I watched it. It makes no reference to the gold boxes/resistors at all. Where did you buy your lights mud? Even without the resistors these do work. They do flash faster than stock however they do flash and it is visible they are flashing... On my box its labeled LT-F15009JMLED-TM the gold resistors should be in a bag under the lights the instructions are in the same bag.... If you bought from Xtralights they will send you what you need free of charge.... You can install them they just blinker faster, not really a big deal to me but some wont like change... I am getting the added resistors over night to me today... Hang in there don't give up just yet...

Yep, I got them at Xtralights. Who did you call to get the "gold" boxes? They must be the load resistors. Is there a specific number you dialed to Xtralights or a specific person to ask for? Those come directly attached and wired on Spyder lights. I assume I will need 4 gold boxes. Correct? If not I expect the top or bottom would hyper flash.

Fred the load resistors are incorporated into the Spyder lights. They have heat fins and are wired directly into the harness. Alol you have to do is plug into the Ford harness. Doesn't take more than ten minutes for complete install. Looks like Spec D is doing an aftermarket fix with these "gold" boxes which must be load resistors. I expect you must have 4 or your gonna get hyperflash in one section or the other without 4 seperate load resistors.

They are great lights. I had a pair for two years plus and a neighbor has a pair for four years plus. No hyperflash and no bulbs burned out. Now the bad news.....Spyders run around 360 for a set. Cheapest I have seen is around 320 on Ebay but come from overseas.

I saw the Spyder LED tails on Auto Anything for $332 plus an extra 15% off and free shipping...

I am glad they hold up well, so I am thinking the price difference might be worth it!

I just talked with a "Rick" at Xtralights. He tells me they have contacted the manufacture to ship two extra load resistors "gold boxes" direct to all customers that purchased their lights in the last two months. (that is when they started getting complaints). Now I will get four( since they didn't send me any) but the rest of you will get two. He tells me Xtralights will ship out to customers automatically and you don't even have to call to request them. He said that in the past you always got four load resistors but the company had a "hiccup" in quality control and only started sending two. He was very sorry for the mix up and told me I should expect the "gold boxes" load resistors in about one to two weeks. We shall see...:emotions33:

You may want to check Amazon or Ebay. I think you might be able to beat that price. Time will tell about the Spec D's but I can tell you the Spyders do hold up well.

These sure as hell look like Spyders. I can't swear they are but they look just like them and they do use Phillips bulbs and in the picture on the rear you can see the built in load resistors. My spyders looked just like them.
