I just looked up a few YouTube videos on Dynamat and all I can say is wow! I agree with you about the factory using this! Wow that stuff works. Do you think just doing all the doors would be good enough?

i am a fan of Focal. they are a bit more expensive, and they do not make a 5x7 component, so you would need to do a little door modification. however the sound quality is exceptional and well worth it. any JL or alpine amp will do you fine. once i get to work, i will try to see if we have any install pictures, and get you the specs on the equipment

dynamats side effect is the quieting of rattles. it will not completely eliminate it. its main purpose is to enhance the sound quality of you interior and block out road noise that cancel out sound waves coming from your system. for a raptor, i plan on doing my whole truck when i get it. it will probably require 5 bulk packs. but you can get away with less. figure that at least 50% of whatever panel you are dynamating needs to be covered for it to be effective

I appreciate the sugestion but I'm not really interested in having to modify openings. I do think the idea of going Dynamat crazy is a great idea. I imaging if you covered the majority of the cab it would be significantly quieter. Thanks for the advise.

focal does make a coaxial 5x7 it runs for about $250. its from the integration line, the ic570. i would suggest looking into it. but if you want a component set you will have to look at something else or modify. i plan to modify my doors because i want to put the best speakers in there, but hey im an installer, so i have to have the best. my vehicles are demo vehicles for our shop.

as far as dynamat if you want to spend the money, then do the roof, floor, and inner and outer door. about $1500 in materials. make sure to use the xtreme line of dynamat

I am seriously considering getting the whole cab done down the road

I think in the long run it will be worth the money

if you plan on doing it yourself figure 2 or 3 days of work. if you take to to a shop figure its possible in 1 day. but the man hours are a lot. probably 12 working hours, if you know what you are doing.
i m hopefully getting my truck buy the end of the year,so if you wanted to wait i was going post before and after, along with a diy, and db difference. or you can just go for it, this stuff works great

Please post that, I will not be doing it anytime soon but if you are going to post a DIY thread on the complete cab, I would most definitely appreciate that!
