GEN 2 Spd downpipes carb CA

So I know the spd downpipes are not carb compliant for CA residents which I am ): but i have been chasing this sound, link included

I know I need the corsa performance extreme exhaust just looking for a substitute for spd or any other way of getting a hold of one into CA.

That is probably the best sound for a Raptor that I've heard. How did they get all that turbo spoiling sound?

Plus the exhaust
And the spd catted downpipes

the spd downpipes and adaptors with this Linky Is the ticket.

If I hadn't destroyed my factory resonator, I would have retained it, but I'm now using the borla resonator.

The spooling sound is a resonator delete too.

If you delete the resonator, get ready for a level of droning that gets pretty annoying.

Disclaimer: SPD supported my build. Even if they didn't, I would have happily paid for the parts. I tried many exhaust combos. The SPD/wraith combo is the only one that survived more than one baja trip. I've had the SPD bits on my truck now for almost a year and I've had zero issues.

If you run foutz skids, buy some hockey pucks and longer bolts to space them down a little. ( the foutz skids tuck up more than an inch higher than the factory skids.)

Unfortunately there is very little for the Raptor that is CARB compliant, and you’re not going to find any down pipes. Unfortunately, CA hates internal combustion engines.

Kind of a bummer, because a less restrictive down pipe is the ticket to big HP gains in most turbo cars, I suspect the 3.5 is no different.

I’m running them in CA, no issues with check engine lights. I have no doubt they will pass smog when the time comes. I bought them used here on FRF. It was the only way I could get them here. Small disclaimer, I have the stock down pipes sitting here just Incase.

Yes, CA blows when it comes to mods. Most smog places can’t even see the down pipe, because of its location, and if it has a cat on it, they can’t tell the difference. Just sucks the penalty for getting caught if you do have one is a trip to the referee and potentially a fine.

Eh just put it the down pipe and swap it for smog and then swap back after it passes. That's what I do with my xj hahhah

Im thinking the same and no one will notice come smog inspection in 2022. The fact that there catted and no check engine lights I’ll be good to go.

It’s kinda a pain in the ass for sure with the Turbo studs.
