TREYPAL Damage report. 1 Completely blown front shock, Broken skid plate bolt, Replaced master cylinder, Melted Wheel Speed Sensor, Melted parking brake cable, shredded rear BFGs, damaged running board from clipping a switchback.

WOW! I don't feel so bad about bumping my drivers side aft running board support and raising a sharp berr on it. That and banging one BIG ROCK with one of the skid plates with no ill effects I got out easy. HAhahaaaa, Like I said before , think I threw a few wheel weights of which I have about 25 lbs of on each wheel! AHahahaaaaa. I do have that real spongy feel in the suspension again like I had after the April run. Also some occasional rear leaf squeek. Oh well.

My Buddy Mike had a great time. Said other than his 4 wheelers, he has never had it so good on those trails. He won't come out and say this but he was impressed with our rides!

Glad you made it home bubba. See ya around the state soon......

I got t-***** by a Ford Escape recently. She hit my passenger running board. It was scratched along the edge and bent about 1" downward. That's the total damage on my side - but her Escape thought it hit a tree. The running board sliced her front-end open and put it out of its misery.

My point is that the running board cost her insurance $1,695 in just parts. Labor was extra. Not something I'd want to replace out of my own pocket. In all honesty, no one even knew I was in an accident. I was very impressed with the quality of the running board!!

That's how Raptors roll. They hunt in packs! Most people have a hard time taking their eyes off of ONE Raptor.

It sounds like Trey is not going to be able to put a colorado run together this year, so I was thinking of taking the reins from him (this year) if we had some interest. I know Rich said he was interested, but August would be a better timeframe. Given that....

...what's the interest in doing something like this? I know I'm down. No fees.....everyone is responsible for their own food lodging/camping/etc. We won't kill our trucks, but we will see some of the most amazing views on the planet.

PM me or respond and let me know your thoughts. Given the level of interest, maybe we can get something together.

The pictures in this thread should be pretty convincing...

I'm interested in being in Telluride July 20th to see some music. But I don't think I'll have a Raptor by then, and I don't think my Dodge can make all of these trails...

Good idea. We can maybe schedule during/around the music festival. I've never made that one...

I may need a co-dog if you want to come out for a couple days.

I am very interested. Did this back in 2000 and still talk about Black Bear Pass. Ford Explorer back then.

See what dates you are looking at and I'll see if I can get the time off. 3 Day weekends are horrible for me. End of July and August work best.

The problem with doing this trip on a weekend is the GD Jeepers. They really hate Raptors. As a whole the less traffic the better when running Raptors on these trails. A few years ago we ran a plated Honda 650R with a radio on point. They were able to call back traffic making things much easier.

Matt, I'd take your right seat, but I think my wife would kill me.

Maybe we could do something like this.

Day 1: Meet in Telluride do music fest. See my wifes kickass cousin play, stay in Telluride
Day 2: Ophir Pass to Silverton, Million Dollar HWY to Ouray, do mining tour, stay in our around Ouray.
Day 3: Corkscrew/California pass to Animas Forks, Stony Pass to Rio Grande Reservoir. Camp at Lost Trail Trailhead, or Tregos, Or somewhere in that area. Or Go into Lake City, and go up Nellie Creek Trail and camp there at the base of Uncompahgre Peak
Day 4: (or possibly day 3) HWY Towards Lake City, Jacuma Mesa (Spelling) Trail into Lake City, (Possibly Day 4) Engineer Pass, HWY To Ouray, Imogene Pass back into Telluride (Long Day).

Day 4 leaves lots of Exit options. Leave from Lake City, Leave from Ouray/Silverton (Towards Durango). Leave from Telluride. It also makes for a very long day. Or we can go all the way through lake city and do a side trip up Nellie Creek Trail and camp at the base of Uncompahgre. (cool campsite).

If I can swing transit for myself and my wife I think we're probably in.

Also, I haven't done Stoney pass in a Raptor. The rio grand reservoir side of the trail gets really tight in one spot, I've done it all the way to the river crossing at the base of the pass. Someone said that's the worst part though.
