I am heading to LA next week to get my bump stops, braided lines and power steering done. I am also torn between which Lowrance to get, and which radio to get? ICom or Kenwood?

Any suggestions on the GPS or radio?

I don't know anything about kenwood but icom is a great radio. Most are running icom so you can't go wrong there.

I don't have a lowrance but most are running the baja unit. BlueSVT and GBrown hopefully can chime in as they run them.

Most people we know are running the Icom and it works great. If you purchase it from Outlaw it comes loaded with most of the commonly used channels preloaded. They go for $399

For a GPS most run the Lawrance Baja 5M. They are $489 and you can go up in price from there depending on what all you want it to do. This one has worked great for me.

Ya, all is well, but I am still in a laughing state of shock after my parents backed into my raptor. The damage isn't too bad, but still, how in the hell did they not see my Black Screw?

Great to hear! Just sent you the map files.

I also just uploaded them. You should be able to download them from the following links. For the guys using MotionX. You probably have to download them and then email them to yourself. You can then open them with motionx from your email.

Are you going to have the run file on a mini scan disc so we can load it into the lawrance at the start of the run?

Are you talking about an SD Card or Mini SD? I have no experience with Lowrance but if all I need is the files on the card I can do that. Maybe I should swing by your house with the files before the run to test everything out.
