There are not many things that are a truer test of durability than Baja... Hopefully we will get some good info as to all of the mods they make. Given the success many have seen with turbo power plants and racing, I think Ford will do well, not to mention the weight benefits of a lighter engine (I am curious about how much less the 3.5 weighs....).

I think it is pretty awesome, myself. If I could have had the EcoBoost, I would have taken it. More power, or A LOT MORE POWER I should say, is only a change in boost away. The benefits of turbos combined with direct injection are undeniable...

Yessir. As I've said many times, if they stick an EB in the Raptor I have a STRONG feeling we'll become a two Raptor household soon after.

"To prove how tough and durable it is" probably means, "to ensure the motor can stand up to the demands a full-size truck run offroad will put on it, Ford will test it in a Raptor R".

This is great news.

I wonder if the Raptor will be around long enough to see an EcoBoost motor in it?

And if they do put the EB motor in the Raptor (F-150) will the 6.2 motor still be offered? CAFE standards are increasing (not sure what the future requirements are) so the EB motor could be Ford's path forward.

I think are going to up the power of the 6.2L closer to 500hp and run Ecoboost V-6 in place of the 5.4L. Ford has made it very clear of the last several months maybe even year that 4.6L and 5.4L Mod Motors(with the execption of the GT500) are done and has said nothing about the new 5.0L going in the F-150.

OK, that's sounds like an excellent plan to me. But, has Ford said anything about the EcoBoost going into the F-150? Or is this news item the first we're actually hearing about that (by way of a "test")?

One more question: Is the 6.2 motor going into the F-150? I'm not sure I heard that. All I know about it is it's in the Raptor and the Super Duty trucks.
