Durability wise I see no issues getting 200k plus trouble free miles from the new 7.3L (455 cubic inch) Godzilla power plant. Simple design, forged crank and back to pushrods to move the valve train.

"The 7.3-liter is designed for maximum durability in the harshest environments given that our customers live and work in these conditions every day," Joel Beltramo, Ford manager for gas V8 engines, said. "This engine has the largest displacement in its class and is designed to provide benefits in key areas like power, durability, ease of maintenance and total operating costs."

A diesel in the 250 is a complete waste IMO. Not only does it hurt your off-road performance, but it drops your payload capacity too much to really take advantage of it's towing capacity.

Any Tremor is going to be noticeably less capable than a Raptor off-road. The best will be a F-250 with the 7.3 and the worst will be a F-350 with a diesel.

True on the aspect of off roading an F-250 regarding the diesel. Not so much in the towing aspect. The diesel is at a completely different level when comparing towing. Of course the 7.3 is capable. Will it compete with the 6.7. Not a chance.

I get that, i'm not trying to compare the towing prowess of the 6.7 diesel vs the 7.3 gas I know the diesel is going to outperform the gas engine.

The problem with diesel in an F-250 is it's so much heavier than the gas engine that your payload ends up not being a whole lot better than an F-150 and you end up running into the same issues when towing a heavy load, in that the tongue/pin weight of your trailer + cargo in the truck ends up putting you over payload. Virtually anything that wouldn't put you over payload the 7.3 gas can easily pull. It just doesn't make sense in a 3/4 ton truck IMO.

The problem I have with the current diesels are the federal emission regulations. They are chocked thanks to all of sensors, computers, DEF fluid, DPF’s, etc. Good luck when you get a Christmas tree of CEL’s on your dashboard after the warranty period is over.

They have zero issues breathing. If they did you wouldn’t see 1000lb/ft of torque. Their problem is they’re being forced to digest their own shit.

Great looking truck with a great engine. If and when you want to boogie fast in the dirt, just throw some Carli suspension parts on it. It will surprise you and a lot of Raptors.

As I am reading through this entire thread, I had Carli upgrades in my mind the whole time. Ready to pounce on and suggest said Carli upgrades. Finally... The last post mentions it. "Lou Maldonado"... you are 100% on point my friend! Only the best suspension products in the damn world for Diesel HD Ford and Ram trucks. This is not subjective. The big girls boogie in the dirt with their products. I have first hand experience with Carli, and "Drippin Raptor" they are in the process of tuning for the Tremor as we speak.

Just a small taste:
