Thanks everyone. Just got an updated build week for my truck. Looks like 12/2. With any luck it'll be in the garage for Christmas.

Welcome. I am sure you have a lot to brag about. That level of trust takes a long time to nurture. U R doin it right and kudos to your bride. Wise move making the jump from street bikes to motox. Nothing against street bikes, i love em, but once upon a Friday night long ago, I was hit by a PU on a Yoshimura Honda....everything changes. Some say I lived.

So two and a half weeks ago, I ordered a 2014 Tuxedo Black SCREW with the SE package, moonroof, etc...Now the waiting part comes. I'm hoping it'll be in around Christmas since it's my birthday, but we'll see.

And even though she'll never read this, I have to give Mrs. Medic kudos'...

I'd been kind of just poking around looking at trucks for kicks without any real intent to purchase one right now. She asked me if I found any that I liked...and of course I'd found the Raptor. Her reply when I told her the truck I wanted was $58,000?

"You pay the bills, can we afford it?" followed by "Do you want it?" and then "Let's call the Ford dealer my family has done business with for the last 40 years or so."

No worry about the cost. No concern about practical. Only a simple can we afford it, and a do I want it.

And to top it all off, we ditched my street bike and I'm returning to my motocross roots in the form of a 2014 KTM 250SX for myself (I grew up racing motocross from being 4 until I was 22), and a 2014 Honda CRF125F for my daughter so I can ride with her. All without my wife even flinching at any of it...I'm a lucky guy indeed!!!

I'm not normally one to brag...but in this case, my wife is worth bragging about!

Pics of the truck to follow when it finally comes in...

Shane

this sounds like the same conversation my wife and I had. Except I am not getting rid of the Harley! I hope to have mine around Christmas also!

Welcome aboard & congrats FNG! Keep the wife, but as your Mom would probably say, sell that damn dirt bike before you break your friggin neck.

Thanks everyone.

I get to keep the wife and the bike. Fortunately my parents dealt with my having grown up racing motocross from the time I was 4 until I was 22. This is more of a returning to my roots. And I can't wait for the new bike and the new truck!

Welcome and I just joined recently myself. I ordered my Raptor today too and THEN told my wife about it. All she said was "Hmm, $55k, Hmm". That was confusing...as was she going to go out and get herself a new car too.....

Then later tonight she said "You work hard for your money, you deserve it".

We've been married for 27 years, 4 months and 2 weeks.
