No plan changes for florida, @knine opened up his co-pilot seat to me. I still have to look over my schedule and get my balls out of the wife's purse.:ROFLJest:

Next week will be very busy for me IF I do go, as I leave for Florida next Wednesday.

Oh, and tell her you can write some of it off, business trip :ROFLJest:

I have had a bunch of help on this, thanks FRF! Tried to respond to everyone who offered help but just in case thank you again, much appreciated.

Dealer has an axle on the way but can't get confirmation of when it will land. Might have a spare axle tomorrow who knows. Odds of getting it fixed in time are at least improved due to FRF. Anytime stuff is in the hands of UPS I get worried. Those brown trucks don't seem to like to bring the important stuff on time.

The technology in doing alignments are state of the art now days. My dealer has a thing you just put on the tire and they have tested it with the rack same outcome. Of cores my dealer rocks they still have one or two goofs but it's hard to get around that.

Wonder if @pirate air has seen them?

I've seen what your talking about but never messed with one. Hunter makes one called the "quick check" (or something like that) which is probably what your dealer has. It tells you if your alignment is out, but you still need to go to the rack and alignment maching to make the adjustments. Its a good tool to have on the service drive to sell alignments but most dealers can't justify the cost of one when there's not much money in alignments anyways. Plus the machines are $$$. The only money is when you can up sell worn out parts.

The old wired hunter machines are good for doing wide trucks like a modded raptor because you don't acually need to put the truck on a rack to make it work. I aligned all kinds of crazy wonk ass shit that would never fit on a rack on an old maching. We upgraded to a fancy wireless set up and that was that! All the wonk ass customers weren't happy lol.

I'm not sure how necessary this really is or how concerned any of us really need to be about snow and ice build up on LEDs. Having driven in winter conditions for 30 years, the build up sucks for sure, but I've never felt compelled to "fix" it. I knock it off at gas stops and clean the lights with the gas station window cleaner...that always works just fine.

BUT, I'm a tinkerer and not opposed to doing the unnecessary just to do it, like so many of you...

I posted about this earlier and just got it done...

I bought 5 watt/foot 12v heat cable. Connected it to an open up fitter switch and ran it behind the Amber lens, against the glass of the LED. I was going to dab hot glue or silicone caulk to hold it (and then peel it off later) but the lens snapped right on and presses the cable in place nicely.

i have run it now for a few days-no fires :)

when it comes to highway slush on the lights, even a light with no ice build up is going to get coated with crap...so I don think melting ice to reveal a light coated with road grime will return the output to usable levels....BUT...if it works I think this will make a difference when its bitter cold, there is no slush, the snow is flying, (or your plowing through drifts) and you have snow build up on the light... we may know for sure in 72 hours....

Got the back packed and put the amber film on along with the jack extender that just arrived yesterday. Just got clothes to pack and we hope to head off later today.
