I think Snoball 14 was pretty awesome! Plenty of improvements over Snoball 500 which certainly confirms GLRE is constantly working to improve the experience.
The Hotels on Snoball 14 we perfect. They all had plenty of space for us, they had bars, they had good departure spots for the groups to gather, they all had Gas close by and they all were nice places.
The Food was also planned well. Last year was a mess at the Casino, but this year, they had Buffets both nights we were there. The Up North Lodge is always a great stop for both location and food quality and I know a load of people ate at Herford & Hops (the grill your own steak place) one night.
I'm not going to ask for more trails because I know that is a factor of snow and I know there were more trails completed on the pre-run that were not passable by the time the actual Snoball was there, shit happens, can't control the weather.
Total Group size is a double edged sword. I know Snoball could easily sell out 100 or even 125 spots. Hell, 2014 sold out in 15 minutes. However, there are lots of logistic issues to consider when dealing with that many trucks, people and snow covered trails. And let's be honest, with more people sometimes comes more bitching/unhappy attendees. You are dealing with LOTS of personalities when you have 150+ of A type people in one spot. In order to make the experience awesome for everyone, all attendess have to be somewhat fleixible and understand some things are not within the control of the event organizers.
I know it was only a month ago, yet to me it feels like 6 months ago and I wish I could go back tomorrow. It's apparent by this thread, that people care and GLRE wants to make the Run better every year and I have no concern that this accomplishment will be completed and Snoball 2015 will be even more Epic!
Big Blue would be honored to be Charlie Chase next year with the only condition that Todd (ShooterAMG) be Charlie Lead. It was a great group and I thought we made a badass team.
