Smaller Tires???

I'm needing new tires on my 2010. It currently has BFG KO2's on it - 315/70R17 E. A friend of mine pointed out that his F-250 tires (265/7OR17) only cost half mine and are still good for the 1% of the time he's truly off-road. l'm pretty new to Raptors, and this is a very early I model have.

Would thinner tires like the 265's still work on my truck? What all size smaller and thinner tires would work on my truck? picrel

A 265 would look pretty weird on a Raptor. Any variation of 35 or 315 should be considered the minimum. Also that would change the gearing quite a bit, likely suck as much gas riding along at 3K rpm on the hwy as you'd save on those tires. You better prepare for bingo cards and a flame suit...lol

There are cheaper 35" tires out there than KO2s, in some cases quite a bit cheaper.

Your friend is trying to talk you into looking goofy. Americas tire shows 265 @ $274 each. 315s @ $377 each. That is not half the price. I'd pay the extra $100 per tire and do it right if I were you.

I can't even imagine how weird that would look. That would be like the sort of tires they'd use to move trucks around at the docks for transport, before they install the real ones. I believe thats the same tire size that came stock on my 4runner lol.
