Ha, going to talk to the Garage folks to see if they have something smaller/different first.

How wide is the garage door opening?

That support is really deep, and I would think it would only need to be that way if the door was really wide, to keep the middle from sagging down when the door is open.

Post a pic of the whole door from the inside of the garage, with the door closed and no Raptor in the way.

are you worried about crook's breaking in if not just take it off you don't need it. look's like it will just unbolt easily.

For everyday use, don't think I'll need it. Sure it's there for hurricane wind loads though.

Yea, that's what I was thinking, I'm in the 170 mph wind speed area. Just never seen 5.5" struts before.
Going to call the garage door folks and get their opinion.

Would only want to replace that one strut, see if I could get back the lost reinforcement in a different dimensioned strut.

Need the clearance for a new front bumper lol
