Damn! more than a dozen bits? Were you using bits made for drilling metal? Also some oil can help with getting through something like that.

Yup used bits for metal high quality ones. It was really hard to go through the 2nd layer of metal. Im loving it, gonna install the rest of the rigids and take pics. My parking is 7"2 max. And Im about a foot below any pipes/ceilings

The sheet metal sub structure is most likely hardened steel. Most newer cars have hardened sheet metal in them so they can be built lighter and just as strong. Doing body work is a bitch on that stuff too. I just doesn't move like mild steel and annealing it so you can work it defeats the purpose of it being there in the first place.
