Hey everyone

I’m a gen 2 owner but I found a set of 2010 shocks that need a rebuild. There’s some corrosion on the outside in the pics. Is there anything I should look for?

I’ve seen some DIYs and info on the net. I’ve got a mechanical background so it should be too bad.

I like to tinker so I thought this would be a good project and they’re pretty cheap.

Why would you want Gen 1 shocks if you have a Gen 2?

I should have clarified - wanted to "practise" on a set.

I got a set of coilovers on my car that may need a rebuild at some point. Plus, the shocks on my truck will need some work at some point also.

Why not get some Gen2 shocks and when you rebuild them you could swap them on your gen2 when the ones on your truck needs rebuilt. Whats the cost of those gen1 shocks?
