Go get a S550 Mustang or a GT350 and you’ll be right back in the glory days.

thats what I have heard. i currently have a 503hp X3MC and is pretty amazing for an SUV. 0-60 is 3.3 sec. ....still doesnt have the steering or handling feel of past BMW's. its debadged and fun to embarrass mustang GT's.

Then it won’t sell.

Ram will sell every single truck they make. They know the market: off road capability that is never utilized, fast on the streets, and looks cooler than the standard trucks (sick of seeing fake Raptor grills btw).

The percent of Raptors that "see dirt" is in the single digits and the vast majority will never see more than a fire road..ever. A stock Raptor may be better, but the real heavy off roaders will just drop $20K into the suspension anyway (I do not see many stock trucks at off road events).

I still don’t know how I feel about the XM cars. I get where they’re coming from, but there’s more than just power to a car.

IMHO, the 550s are the spiritual successor to the E90s. Great communicative platform, high strung V8 that you have to rev the **** out of to really get the full effect, fantastic brakes. I had an opportunity to drive a couple E90 M3s and while the Pony isn’t quite on par with the Luftwaffe, (you get what you pay for) there are other areas where it’s far superior.

Only problem is you get lumped in with the Mustang guys but eh...you got to take the good with the bad.

It will handle and it will power on oversteer. It will also keep up with an m2 on the track. And I can carry 2 large dog crates and luggage. It’s a compromise.
