My truck picked up 230 horsepower at the rear wheels.

SC probably has the best $$ to HP ratio, header/exhaust install is very pricey for what you end up with.

SC will be the cheapest HP youll get . I am planning that route in another 7 months once warranty is up . I spoke to the guys at Livernois and they have cams, head porting and long tubes / ehaust set up and cold air all with a tune . Its about 12K for it all installed and done . and your only getting 150hp out of it . They are the only ones I have seen with head work or cams . Now going back to SC your gonna get 200-250 hp increase for 6K ................

ya I seen that thread in my search. I can't believe no one would make them. I see 3 or 4 Raptors per week in sacramento. I know in Cali our emission laws are crazy but we also have all the money I never did get why they wouldn't cater to us???

same with guns Cali buys more guns per person than anywhere but companies won't go the extra step to get in our state. LMAO its crazy to me but I also dont run the business and maybe something I dont see?

If you want long tube headers on your truck and a bed full of weaponry, just move out of CA. Yea, it rains in other states, and there are some fat women as well. It's just comes with freedom.

As for shorty headers, they aren't worth the time or money for the minimal gains- don't bother.

that actually is awesome but the 10K can go to the 2017. If the 2017 wasn't TT I 100% would whipple mine. I bought this truck knowing I was gonna sell it the day the 2017 came out but due to me and stupid impulse buying I have another damn bike.

So I kinda used the wrong words. for me in my position of wanting the 2017 its not worth it. cheap easy mods to hold me over will work in my case.

question what was your combo of parts to get 230

oh wow that's nuts 12k for head and a cam. that damn AMG pricing lol. I prob wouldn't do heads with out a SC or turbo first anyways.

you could just have the stock manifolds extrude honed. might pick up a little power. they have to flow ok because some guys run blowers with them.

"extrude honed"? Sounds like what I've been wondering about. But then your still stuck with the stock cats. Leaving little gain for the effort. So I didn't think to far thru it.

in 2008 I had F250 and CA guys were taking the DPF filter off and gutting and putting back on so it would pick up all the HP/TQ and still get better gas mileage while passing visual inspection.
I picked a safe tune and gained 250hp on tune and straight pipe others where crazy and pushing it getting 320 plus on just tunes and CAI (without the filter) MPG jumped huge also.

you prob could do the same with stock cats just gut them so it passes the visual.
that goes back to the part like you said about effort though might just be to much trouble.

I have a feeling I am going to just add long tubes and pay the smog guy like I have been doing half my life.

it's about half the price of headers and would net about half the gain.

I'm not sensitive about it and it doesn't strike any nerves with me. You asked why nobody makes shorty headers and why nobody tries to sell guns specially for the CA market- and I answered your question on both. Simple enough. I've been in California and have nothing against the state or the people living there, despite their complete lack of judgement when it comes to elected officials LOL.

Whipple with pulley and throttle body upgrades, 60 lb/hr injectors, and full exhaust.
