Curious what brand/model/types of short antennas you gents are using since the factory magic wand is still actually a thing in 2023 for Ford trucks. It'll be the first thing I swap out..... Thanks!

Question. Do you listen to the radio? If not, buy something you like the looks of because it's a fancy plug. If you care about audio quality, I can't help you, I don't listen to the radio. I do think that the 50 cal antenna is GAF, but that's just me.

I bought one called 'AntennaMastsRus' on Amazon for $25 (6 3/4)in. I listen to FM talk radio sometimes and I didnt experience any degradation in signal with this shorty. Going to swap out and try their 4in aluminum one soon

I bought this $16 one on amazon. Its very short and reception to any station has stayed the same as stock unit.

That's a great point. I guess if I ever needed FM signals, it would be nice to have one that worked.

or you can just cut you oem antenna. make sure to do in 3in increments. i leave mine on as a height gauge in low parking garages. the antenna is 31.5in for a reason. its 1/4 wavelength at 1watt. if you are in the city a lot, you wont notice reception issues, but the shorter the antenna, the quicker you lose reception as you get further away. fm stands for frequency modulation. its based on how close you are to the source. am is amplitude modulation, its based on antenna height.
